Direct Billing

At Kanata South Dental, we are committed to making dental care simple, convenient, and accessible for our patients. That’s why we proudly offer direct billing to most insurance companies whenever possible.

What Is Direct Billing?

Direct billing allows our team to electronically submit your dental claim directly to your insurance provider on your behalf. Instead of paying the full cost of treatment upfront and waiting for reimbursement, your insurance company pays the covered portion directly to our office.

Once your appointment is complete, we will process your claim electronically and determine how much of your treatment is covered under your insurance plan. You will only be responsible for paying any remaining balance at the front desk.

If your insurance provider does not allow direct billing, payment may be required at the time of your visit, and you can then submit the claim to your insurer for reimbursement.

Benefits of Direct Billing

Direct billing helps simplify the payment process and allows patients to maximize their insurance benefits while reducing out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Convenient electronic claim submission directly to your insurance provider
  • Reduced upfront costs for covered dental treatments
  • Faster processing and instant claim responses in many cases
  • No paperwork for patients — our team handles the claim submission process
  • Easy coordination of dual insurance plans when both plans are under the same provider

Insurance Coverage & Pre-Determinations

Dental insurance coverage varies depending on your provider and policy. Many insurance plans provide coverage for preventive and basic dental treatments such as exams, cleanings, fillings, and X-rays. Some plans may also include partial coverage for more complex procedures.

For major dental treatments, a pre-determination approval may be required before treatment begins. This allows your insurance provider to review the proposed treatment plan and confirm the amount that will be covered under your policy.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance card or policy information to your appointment. Our team will use these details to submit your claim electronically and help guide you through the process.

If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, direct billing, or payment options, the team at Kanata South Dental is always happy to help.

We will gladly answer any questions you may have.
